This isn’t really surprising.
Up until fairly recently, most of the skeletons in doctors’ offices and clinics were real.
I had to purchase one for our physio clinic…probably around 2005…?
The medical supply company we bought it from had both real and plastic skeletons in their catalog. The real ones were “sourced from India.”
The weird thing was, the plastic ones were about twice as expensive as the real ones at the time. (about $500 to $1000 I think).
I got approved to spend the extra cash to buy a plastic one.
It wouldn’t surprise me at all that one of the real ones ends up in a thrift shop from time to time though….
